About Cut the Rope DX

Deliver a piece of candy to Om Nom by cutting ropes in the right order. Momentum, bubbles and other mechanisms turn each small room into a physics puzzle. Try collecting the stars before letting the candy reach its destination.

CONTROLS & OBJECTIVE

How to play

  1. Open a level pack and begin with its first available puzzle. Locate the candy, its supporting ropes, Om Nom and the stars before making a cut.
  2. Cut one rope and watch the candy's path. A remaining rope can make it swing instead of dropping straight down.
  3. Time the next cut so the candy travels through the stars and towards Om Nom. Cutting every rope immediately often sends it out of reach.
  4. Feed Om Nom to finish the puzzle. If the candy is lost, restart and change the order or timing of the cuts; use the level selection screen to revisit stars you missed.

This is Cut the Rope DX, a fan-made enhancement and browser restoration maintained by yell0wsuit and contributors. ZeptoLab created the original game and assets; the DX project states that it is not affiliated with or endorsed by ZeptoLab.

Candy first, then stars

The candy must reach Om Nom to finish a level. Stars sit along possible routes, so a direct drop may finish the puzzle while leaving some behind. Look at the swing arc before releasing the last rope.

Later puzzles introduce additional mechanisms. The opening levels are a better place to learn the cutting gesture than a puzzle with several unfamiliar objects.

Browser progress and version

The DX project documents browser saves in local storage. Keep the same browser and game origin when returning; clearing site data can remove that progress. Embedded storage policies may differ between browsers, so check that a cleared level remains unlocked before relying on it.

The upstream project also offers desktop and installable-web features. Those features do not imply that offline installation has been tested through this site's embedded player.

Guide notes & sources

Restoration README and browser entry reviewed on 2026-11-02. The embedded build reached its inner Play screen; a level clear has not been verified in this review. Touch controls and save/reload remain untested.

Playing Cut the Rope online

This player uses the DX browser restoration. Start with an early puzzle to learn how each cut changes the candy's route before attempting a three-star run.

How do I practise the first cut in DX?

After loading, select Play on the DX start screen, then Play in the game menu. Open the first available puzzle. Start by finding the candy and Om Nom. Swipe across the rope itself, then watch the candy fall or swing before making another cut. If you miss, restart the same puzzle and change one cut at a time.

Which rope should I cut first?

Find Om Nom and trace the candy's possible swing before cutting. When two ropes hold the candy, cutting one can leave it swinging from the other. Release that remaining rope when the candy is travelling towards Om Nom, rather than cutting everything at once.

Do I have to collect every star to finish a level?

Feeding Om Nom finishes the puzzle; a successful route can still miss stars. Once you can deliver the candy, replay the level and change the timing or order of cuts to reach the stars along its path.

Is this an official ZeptoLab browser release?

The original game is by ZeptoLab. This page embeds yell0wsuit's fan-made DX enhancement and restoration, which is not affiliated with or endorsed by ZeptoLab. Its features and save behaviour should be checked against the DX project rather than guides to other editions.
